DORSET DIVISION / LEGAL

Terms of Service

Draft prepared 12 October 2026 · Review before publishing

Who you are working with

Dorset Division is the trading name of Marnie Danson, a sole trader based in Poole, Dorset, United Kingdom. Services are delivered remotely unless expressly agreed otherwise. These terms apply to work agreed directly with Dorset Division. Work booked through a third-party platform may also be governed by that platform’s terms.

Quotes and the agreement

A quote or proposal sets out the services, deliverables, timescales, revision allowance and fees. Work begins only when the scope has been accepted and any agreed initial payment has been received. Any material change to the scope, deadline or deliverables may require a revised quote and written approval.

Your responsibilities

Clients must provide accurate instructions, suitable materials, timely feedback and any access or permissions reasonably required. Clients confirm that materials they supply can lawfully be used. Delays in receiving these items may change the delivery schedule.

Delivery, revisions and acceptance

I will use reasonable care and skill when providing services. Agreed revisions are included only to the extent described in the quote. Additional changes, new requests or work arising from changed instructions may be charged separately after approval. Completion and acceptance arrangements will be set out in the project agreement.

Fees and payment

The quote will identify fees, deposit or staged-payment requirements, due dates and any separately charged third-party costs. Fees are in GBP unless otherwise agreed. Any VAT treatment will be stated on the invoice. See the Deposits & Payments policy.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the client receives rights to the agreed final, paid-for deliverables after all relevant invoices are paid. Rights to third-party assets, licensed fonts, software, templates, stock content and platform components remain subject to their own licences. Preliminary concepts, rejected drafts, working files and pre-existing tools are not automatically transferred. Any specific assignment or licence will be described in the quote.

Confidentiality and data

I will treat non-public client information confidentially, subject to legal obligations and agreed use. Where services involve access to personal data on behalf of a client, the parties may need a separate data-processing agreement and appropriate security arrangements.

Third-party services and outcomes

Domains, hosting, marketplaces, payment providers, advertising networks and publishing platforms are operated by third parties. Their policies, costs and availability can change. I cannot guarantee search rankings, sales, platform approval, publishing acceptance or commercial results.

Liability and your legal rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or rights and remedies that cannot legally be excluded. Any project-specific limitations must be fair, lawful and clearly agreed. Consumers retain their statutory rights.

Ending a project and disputes

Either party may seek to end a project in accordance with the agreed scope and applicable law. Charges for work completed, reasonable costs and any lawful cancellation charges will be assessed fairly. Please contact me first if there is a concern so we can try to resolve it. See Cancellations & Refunds and Complaints.

Applicable law

These terms are intended to be interpreted under the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections or other laws that apply to a client in their own jurisdiction.
