I'm Marnie. I work with small businesses, founders and independent clients who need more than a list of suggestions. Sometimes the right starting point is research or a clear plan. Sometimes something needs untangling, building or fixing. I can work out the direction and take responsibility for the practical work that follows.
I've managed ecommerce catalogues containing 5,000+ products, built websites from front to back, created Shopify apps and worked across Shopify, Etsy, TikTok Shop and Amazon. I've also developed brands, supported marketing campaigns and publishing projects, researched commercial ideas and turned complicated projects into workable plans. That breadth matters when a problem doesn't fit neatly into one category.
I don't separate strategy from delivery. If I recommend something, I'm thinking about how it will work in practice, what it will cost in time and resources, what could go wrong and whether it makes commercial sense. You'll deal directly with the person doing the work: me.
CLEAR, SENSIBLE PRICING
A small job shouldn't require an agency-sized budget, and a full project shouldn't be squeezed into a small-task price. These are starting points for clearly defined work. I'll explain the scope, deliverables and cost before we begin.
Fixed-price work is quoted by scope, not simply by the hour. Specialist and ongoing projects can be quoted individually. Hosting, paid apps and third-party services are separate where applicable.
WHAT I CAN HELP WITH
Have an idea worth exploring but not enough evidence to commit money? Need to understand your competitors, test an assumption or find out why part of the business isn't working? I'll look beyond the obvious, research the options and give you findings you can actually use to decide what happens next.
I've worked with catalogues containing thousands of products, supplier feeds, inconsistent product data, variants, collections and the everyday complications of selling online. I can review the bigger picture, identify what's causing problems and get into the platform to put things right — rather than leaving you with a list of fixes to make yourself.
I build websites, not just page layouts. I look at what the site needs to do, how people will use it and what needs to happen behind the scenes. That can include front-end and back-end development, Shopify functionality, integrations, client portals and ongoing improvements. A full website involves planning, design, development, responsive testing and proper delivery — and I price it as a complete project, not a quick template job.
Website starting prices cover an agreed number of pages and a defined level of design and functionality. Content creation, ecommerce features, custom apps, advanced integrations, revisions and launch support are specified in the quote. Hosting, domains and paid third-party tools are separate unless expressly included.
A logo matters, but it isn't the whole brand. I look at what the business does, who it needs to reach and how it should be understood before choosing the visual direction. Whether you need a standalone logo or a fuller identity, the aim is something distinctive, consistent and useful across the places your customers will actually see it.
I don't believe in creating content just because somebody says you should post three times a week. The message needs to suit the audience and support a real objective. I can research who you're trying to reach, shape the approach and handle the practical work — from copy and SEO to campaigns, prospect research and personalised outreach. Research first. Direction second. Execution after that.
I'm comfortable working with adult businesses, creator platforms and 18+ subject matter. No awkwardness and no judgement. I've worked commercially in the sector, so my understanding isn't purely theoretical. I approach the work with the same standards as any other project: understand the audience and platform, respect boundaries and compliance requirements, communicate professionally and deliver what has been agreed.
Writing the book is one thing. Getting it ready to publish — and making sure the presentation does the writing justice — is another. I help independent authors with formatting, covers, Amazon KDP, author branding, websites and the practical details that can become overwhelming near launch. You can bring me in for one clearly defined task or for support across the publishing process.
Not every job needs a consultant or a complicated plan. Sometimes it needs somebody who can take ownership, organise the moving parts, follow up with the right people and get the work finished. I can step into a defined task, coordinate a project or provide reliable ongoing support without needing to be managed at every turn.

I communicate professionally without turning a simple conversation into a board meeting. I'll ask questions when I need to, keep you updated and tell you if there's a problem.

I work independently and don't need every step spoon-fed to me. Give me the objective, the information I need and room to work. If I don't know something, I'll say so. Then I'll research it.
